Service Innovation by Market, Institution, or technology: Exploration and Comparison on the Driving Forces
Abstract
This paper identifies and categorizes driving forces of service innovation towards economic growth as well as higher level of employment. The analytical framework is articulated with the innovation driving factors under the of Market-Institution-Technology paradigm. This M-I-T paradigm as fundamental driver basis can be used for exploring the insights of driving factors as well as their impacts on service innovation. Manufacturing and service industries may have to shake hands with each other and hence allow more collaborative innovation in the joint R&D and idea generation. Furthermore, cross country cooperation should be encouraged both in intra-industry and inter-industry cooperation. The idea about the Free Trade Area (FTA) should be abandoned and allow more open innovation and free flow of resources, especially the talented technician, accountant, artist, consultant, etc.
