Towards a more Innovative Company - Creating Options for the Future
Abstract
To be more competitive, organisations have to develop new products and new technologies on a constant basis. Not only it is important to improve on existing products and technologies, but in the long run it is essential to develop new options. An innovative company should therefore create an environment of learning and experimenting, more so than well-structured planning. Also internal venturing to create new options as well as to rely on external technology acquisition as well as understanding ‘real options’ is key. Finally this paper deals with some questions how to organise innovation within the organisation.
