Participative innovation: when innovation becomes everyone’s business
Abstract
In this paper, we present participative innovation as a tool to conciliate quality and innovation management. We explain how participative innovation meets the key principles of quality management while offering new perspectives for creative innovation. We propose a definition of participative innovation and a method to implement it in companies. We illustrate our approach through quotes of actors and experts interviewed during an exploratory study of “real life” practices in companies. Finally, we propose a case study of participative innovation implementation in a large company strongly involved in R&D.
